When I was in high school we used to go up there all the time in the back of trucks and just drive through and feel the sweet mountain air. It also is one of the best rides to do on a motorcycle as well. The north part that you can take is called Cascade springs which eventually dumps into Midway, if you are up for a great ride in a truck I highly suggest going out that way as well.
