Have you ever been looking for cool Radio Controlled toys in Utah County?
What should I be aware of when looking to buy an RC toy?
Are there things I need to be aware of so I don’t get “ripped off” by all the shady salesman out there?
These are a few questions I’ve had as I consider buying an RC toy for my child. We’ve lived in Utah County now for about 10 years and there are quite a few retail toy shops in the area. I took the time to ask a local online company what they thought about some of these questions:
How long have you been involved in the RC Toy industry?
Our company was started in December of 2006 but I have personally been in the hobby for more than 15 years.
What should I be aware of when looking to buy an RC toy?
Because there are so many products on the market, you really need to do your homework before making a large purchase. The people who fly RC are always willing to share information about products that they have tried. The best way to find out if something is any good and will work for your purpose is to ask someone that has already tried it. The thing I like about RC is that there is enough variation in motor, battery and plane selection that everyone can find something that fits their personality.
What does “Trimming” mean?
If a helicopter or airplane is trimmed, it will fly straight and level without anyone touching the controls. Some planes and helicopters fly better than others when trimmed. You will always experience some drift due to the movement of air.
What are key selling points to be aware of with Utah RC helicopters?
I trim all of the coaxial helicopters I sell. I also offer a Free 30 min flight lesson to anyone that purchases a complete airplane kit. I always buy 1 sample of every potential product and test it before I’ll add the product to my website. If I don’t like it, I don’t sell it!
